Visit the ship and support the work of the Warship Preservation Trust
This vessel was part of the invasion fleet that commenced landings in Normandy on June 6th 1944. It was mass produced at various shipyards in the United Kingdom. The total number produced was 235. This vessel is LCT 7074 and is a type 3. For many years it was moored in a Liverpool dock and its last use was as a night club until it was damaged by fire. The fire did not affect the main structure of the vessel. However it was abandoned to its fate for many years until rescued by the Warship Preservation Trust. Since then the hull has been stabilised and any 'add on' structures removed. All of the Asbestos has also been removed. It has now been moved along side the other vessels berthed at the Historic Warships site.
